RETAIL
GARDEN CENTRE |
As a one stop garden centre, Van Dongens offers everything from services including free landscape design, consultation, and landscape construction, to a wide selection of green and hard goods.

We
have been busy making one of our most centrally located farms
into a customer friendly, one stop garden centre and one stop   landscape supply centre. We ship our best nursery stock from
our other farms to our Trafalgar road location so that you
have approximately 50 acres of the best nursery stock that
is available in Ontario to choose from. On this 50 acre garden centre we have eight greenhouses full of stock for your selection.
Our 7000 square foot main building is connected to a 15000
square foot covered showroom so that you can stay dry and
warm as you peruse through our huge selection of fountains,
bird baths, gazebos, lawn furniture, perennials, pots, planters,
statues, lawn ornaments etc.
Outside there is an area approximately
two acres large set out for interlocking, patio stones, retaining
wall systems, natural stones, and bulk goods such as our special
triple mix planting soil blend, sands, gravels, decorative
stones and mulches. Outside of our main building is a parking
lot which gives you ample free parking with lots of room so
that we can easily load your car or truck for you if you want
to take your gardening goods with you right away. |

For decades we have been designing gardens in the greater Toronto area; from large estates over 100 acres to  the small down town backyard courtyard or roof top garden. Ultimately we are trying to help you design the garden which you have always dreamed of, and designing it so that it fits within your budget.
There are several different approaches that we offer in the way of landscape design.We have always offered free in-house advice to try to help our customers decide what plant to purchase in a certain location.
We also offer inexpensive in-house sketches. We furthermore do on-site consultations and designs from sketches to master plans. The different costs for this service can be discussed before we start the design process |
| LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION |
We are able to do complete landscape packages, from grading, sodding, driveways, fences, gazebos, decks, ponds,  waterfalls, and of course our main specialty planting and digging out planting beds. Landscaping can be done in one contract using mature specimens giving you a total instant landscape.
On larger projects, or for budget concerns, we can spread a project out over a few years. We can do it all or you can do parts of it yourself. We are very flexible and we try to be as accommodating as possible. Moreover, we can charge for the work on a lump sum contract basis, or an hourly basis. |

TREE MOVING |
Our farms are equipped with several
different machines to dig out and move or root ball many different
sizes of plants.  Mechanically we are able to move plants up
to 8 inches in caliper (stem diameter 6” from ground
level). Our machines are usually mounted on skid steer loaders
with our largest tree spade being mounted on a large tandem
truck.
If access is limited, then we have professional diggers
available to make drum lace root balls and cranes to lift
the plants out of the ground for you.

| PLANTING SERVICE |
| This is our specialty. We can go Canada wide. We can plant one tree for you or a complete landscape. We plant big and small plants, hedges, foundation planting etc . Our specialty is to plant mature specimens to give you INSTANT SHADE AND PRIVACY. |
NURSERIES |
|
Our nurseries are located north, east, and west of Toronto. We have one of
our farms open to the public which is on Trafalgar Road
in  Milton, Ontario. The other farms we ship from are usually
only visited by our wholesale customers, but if your order
is large we may bring you to where we grow your plants so
that you can label the specific plants which you want.

| DELIVERIES |
|
We have delivered plants Canada wide. We usually use one of our own crane trucks,
but we can organize a common carrier if you desire.  When
we deliver, at an extra cost, we can carry your plants around
into the backyard and/or place the plants into the holes
if you desire. An hourly charge does apply. Costs will vary depending on the number of workers required and if additional
machinery is needed.

WHOLESALING

We call ourselves a wholesale/retail nursery. Most of our wholesale customers are residential landscapers who do business with  customers that want specimen plants, fast service, and often plants that are rare and hard to find. We carry the common and also the uncommon plant for the landscaper that wants to create a unique garden.
