A narrow pyramidal cedar with emerald green foliage.
Description: Emerald Cedar has emerald green foliage. It will grow to be about 4m tall at maturity, with a spread of 1m. Emerald Cedar is a dense multi-stemmed evergreen shrub with a narrow and upright growth habit. The scale-like leaves do not develop any fall colour. This shrub does best in full sun to partial shade. It prefers to grow in average to moist conditions, and shouldn't be allowed to dry out. It grows at a slow rate, and under optimal conditions can be expected to live for approximately 30 years. It tends to fill out right to the ground and therefore doesn't require facer plants. It is often planted in rows and used as a hedge/screening but also makes a great accent in a garden. Helpful Care Instructions: This is a relatively low maintenance tree and does not require much pruning. When pruning is necessary, it is recommended to only trim back the new growth of the current season, as well as any dead growth that may be evident. It is recommended to protect this tree from winter winds.
