A deciduous shrub with finely cut, dark purple to almost black foliage that provides striking, dramatic interest throughout the growing season. In early summer, it produces clusters of small, creamy-white flowers that attract pollinators, followed by deep purple-black berries that are edible for wildlife and birds. Its upright, slightly rounded growth habit makes it a bold focal point or accent in mixed borders and cottage-style gardens.

This shrub grows best in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained soil. It is hardy, low maintenance, and adds strong visual contrast with its dark foliage.
