A deciduous ornamental tree known for its large, double, goblet-shaped flowers. The blooms open a soft pink colour with deeper pink tones on the outside and lighter pink interiors, appearing in early to mid-spring before the leaves emerge.
This compact magnolia has a rounded growth habit and is well suited as a specimen tree in smaller landscape spaces. It prefers full sun to partial shade and well-drained, slightly acidic soil. In Ontario, planting in a protected location helps protect flowers from late spring frost damage.
