Description: Dwarf Alberta Spruce has green foliage which becomes light green in spring. Dwarf Alberta Spruce will grow to be about 2m tall at maturity, with a spread of 1-2m. It is possibly the most popular dwarf evergreen and looks like a small, fuzzy bright green Christmas tree. The needles do not develop any fall colour. This shrub does best in full sun to partial shade. It prefers to grow in average to moist conditions, and shouldn't be allowed to dry out. It grows at a slow rate, and under optimal conditions can be expected to live for 50 years or more. The Dwarf Alberta Spruce is a dense multi-stemmed evergreen shrub with a pyramidal shape. It tends to fill out right to the ground and therefore doesn't require facer plants. It can be added to a garden to give a fine and delicate texture to the landscape. Helpful Care Instructions: This is a relatively low maintenance tree and does not require much pruning. When pruning is necessary, it is recommended to only trim back the new growth of the current season, as well as any dead growth that may be evident. Its incredibly dense needles are very sensitive to winter burn and may need winter protection in exposed locations.
