A deciduous shrub with shiny, dark green foliage that provides year-round visual interest. In spring, it produces clusters of small, white flowers that attract pollinators. In late summer to fall, the shrub develops glossy black berries that are edible and attract birds. The foliage turns brilliant shades of red and orange in autumn, adding striking seasonal colour to the landscape.
This shrub grows best in full sun to partial shade and tolerates a wide range of soil conditions, including moist or boggy areas. It is hardy, low maintenance, and deer-resistant.
