A dense, upright evergreen shrub with dark green needles and a tall, narrow, columnar growth habit. It provides year-round colour and is commonly used for hedges, screens, or foundation plantings. Female plants produce small, bright red berries (arils) in fall that attract birds, though the seeds inside are toxic if ingested.
This yew grows best in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained soil. It is hardy, low maintenance, and responds well to pruning to maintain shape or size.
