A deciduous ornamental tree known for its large, heart-shaped green leaves and upright, rounded habit. In late spring to early summer, it produces showy clusters of fragrant white flowers with purple and yellow markings that attract pollinators. Long, slender seed pods follow the blooms, adding interest through fall. Its naturally fast-growing, stately form makes it ideal as a specimen tree, for shade, or in larger landscapes.

Valued for ornamental foliage, fragrant flowers, and rapid growth, it grows best in full sun and prefers moist, well-drained soil. Minimal pruning is required, mainly to remove dead or crossing branches.
