A deciduous ornamental tree known for its striking white, peeling bark and graceful, pyramidal habit. Its bright green foliage provides summer interest and turns golden yellow in fall, adding seasonal color. Small catkins appear in early spring, providing subtle texture before leaf emergence. The elegant form and distinctive bark make it ideal as a specimen tree, in woodland gardens, or for naturalistic landscapes.

Valued for ornamental bark, fall color, and low-maintenance growth, it grows best in full sun to partial shade and prefers moist, well-drained soil. Minimal pruning is needed, mainly to remove dead or crossing branches.
