A deciduous ornamental tree known for its broad, rounded habit and striking deep purple foliage that adds dramatic color to the landscape. The dense canopy provides summer shade, while the foliage turns slightly bronze in fall before dropping. Its naturally stately form makes it ideal as a specimen tree, in large gardens, or in park settings.
Valued for bold foliage, multi-season interest, and low-maintenance growth, it grows best in full sun to part shade and prefers well-drained, fertile soil. Minimal pruning is needed, primarily to remove dead or crossing branches.
