Description: The Red Sunset Red Maple will grow at an average rate to be about 12m high and 10m wide at maturity. This tree has a canopy that begins approximately 2m from the ground. Showy red flowers cover the tree before the green leaves appear in the spring. Once the leaves appear in the spring, the tree also produces red keys that will drop come the fall. The Red Sunset Red Maple should be planted in full sun and does very well if placed in a slightly sheltered area. Soil type does not matter for the Red sunset Red Maple. The Red Sunset Red Maple is a beautiful shade tree made popular due to its stunning red fall colour and contained size (relative to other red maples). Helpful Care Instructions: The Red Sunset Red Maple is fairly low maintenance tree that does not require much pruning. If pruning is desired, it should be done once the leaves have fully developed in the spring otherwise the tree with release sap. As with any tree a deep root watering in the week following planting.
