A large, graceful evergreen conifer with soft, flexible blue-green needles arranged in bundles of five. It has a tall, straight trunk and a pyramidal growth habit when young, becoming more open and irregular with age.
This pine grows best in full sun to partial shade and prefers moist, well-drained soils. It is very cold hardy and is commonly used as a specimen tree, windbreak, or in naturalized landscape plantings.
